Back Story

Reesers Summit Pennsylvania located in the heart of the Keystone State adjacent to the Susquehanna River. Our family & my relatives made up a good part of Reesers Summit township at that time. Remembering as if it was yesterday, we would gather on-top-of our garage flat roof that my grandfather & father built and watch planes take-off & land, which was a big deal. On some days, we picked berries right off the hillsides and pears/cherries from our trees. We also like to take what they call today the “cold plunge”; swimming in the freezing pond my grandfather made in the surrounding woods from mountain water feeds. Our family eventually moved to Hollywood, Florida. Back in high school, at Hollywood Hills High, shop class was always a favorite and where I first experienced working with wood. 

Lots of great memories from Reesers Summit. That being said, REESER’S SUMMIT BENCHMADE is my woodworking company namesake.

I developed the 2024 Harpoon series from my son’s passion as a commercial fishing captain and his need for better gear. Several prototypes were designed, fabricated and tested during his sword fishing trips. This started us down the engineering development design phase of the custom CNC precision machined fabrication process to create the “Surgical Strike Stick” harpoons, as they are today; proven and tested by Commercial Boat Captains & Fishermen alike.

So this is where I find myself today & the beginning of 2theSEAgear.com & REESER’S SUMMIT BENCHMADE cutting boards...leaving the corporate world in the rear view.
