Back Story

Reeser’s Summit, Pennsylvania — in the heart of the Keystone State near the Susquehanna River — is where it all began. My family & relatives called both this township and the surrounding communities home. I remember gathering on the flat garage roof my grandfather and father built, watching planes take off and land — a big event back then — my early childhood memories come from those hills.

My family moved to Hollywood, Florida, where I had my first experience of woodworking in a shop class at Hollywood Hills High School.

Those memories became the foundation of REESER’S SUMMIT BENCHMADE.

In 2023, another chapter began with the development of the Harpoon Series, inspired by my son’s career as a commercial fishing captain and his need for better gear. Prototypes were designed, fabricated, and tested on real swordfishing trips, leading to precision CNC-machined “Surgical Strike Stick” harpoons now trusted by commercial captains and fishermen.

Today, that same focus on function, durability, and craftsmanship carries into both 2theSEAgear.com and REESER’S SUMMIT BENCHMADE fine woodcraft — a new chapter after leaving the corporate world behind. Sometimes you just say: "It's time to do something else" .
