CARE INSTRUCTIONS - CUTTING BOARDS

REESER’S SUMMIT BENCHMADE Premium Hardwood Cutting Boards

Preserve the “Canvas of Colors” and long-lasting performance of your board with proper care. Hardwood is a natural material, and a little routine maintenance will keep your board beautiful and functional for years.

WASHING

  • Hand wash only using mild dish soap, warm water, and a cloth or sponge.
  • Do not soak or submerge your board for extended periods. Excess moisture can cause warping, cracking, or joint damage.
  • Never place in the dishwasher. High heat and prolonged moisture can lead to severe warping, splitting, and separation of the wood.

Deodorizing (as needed):

  • Sprinkle coarse salt on a dry board and scrub with a cut lemon.
  • To reduce strong food odors (like onion), rub the surface with a sliced apple.
  • Rinse, then dry thoroughly for 24 hours before applying conditioner (see Maintenance section).

DRYING

Proper drying is essential to the life of your board.

  1. Towel dry immediately after washing.
  2. Allow to air dry on its edge for even airflow.
  3. Use a drying rack or stand it upright on the counter, rotating occasionally.
  4. Do not leave the board flat on a wet surface or towel, as trapped moisture can damage the wood.

STORING YOUR BOARD

No cabinet required. These boards are designed to be both functional tools and display pieces. When not in use, proudly showcase yours on the countertop — practical artwork for your kitchen.

MAINTENANCE / CONDITIONING

Wood naturally dries over time. Regular conditioning keeps the board protected and enhances the beauty of the hardwood.

Condition every 2–3 weeks (depending on use) or whenever the board looks dry.

  • Apply conditioner using a white Scotch-Brite Light Cleansing Pad (#7445) or a soft, lint-free cloth.
  • Coat all sides of the board.
  • Let absorb for up to 24 hours, then wipe away excess.
